Moffat County Wanted List Status
Sheriff Chip McIntyre's office keeps a warrant and most-wanted page. No cards were showing there. Craig Police's warrant page was blank too. That only describes the web pages themselves. It does not mean Moffat County had no active warrants. It also can't tell you whether a particular person is clear. Agencies choose what to publish. A card can appear, change, or vanish without any public schedule.
A live CRIMEWATCH card may include an agency-supplied photo, the person's name, charge details, and a short narrative. Treat it as a public appeal from that agency, nothing more. Check which office posted it. Check when. The sheriff and Craig Police run separate channels, so searching one endpoint alone leaves gaps.
Note: A missing card only means no public card was showing, not that a court warrant exists or doesn't.
Moffat County Wanted Card Fields
A populated Moffat County wanted card is a conditional notice from an agency. It is not a legal finding. CRIMEWATCH offers several fields. An office can leave out anything that doesn't apply or shouldn't be public. Don't assume a match from a photo or a common name. Compare the agency, the dates, and any identifiers listed before you send a tip.
| Possible field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Name | The name used in the agency's published notice, which still requires identity checks. |
| Photograph | An agency-supplied image when one is available; it stays on the official page. |
| Warrant or charge caption | The alleged basis stated for the notice, not a final court finding. |
| Identifiers | Details the publisher elects to show, which may help avoid a same-name error. |
| Narrative | Agency context about the notice and the requested public response. |
| Agency contact | The official route for tips or safe procedural questions. |
Card fields are only as current as the card's own date. An arrest, court appearance, or correction may have changed things long before the page refreshes. For what happened after a warrant issued, the court record carries more weight.
Use Moffat Wanted Notices Safely
Browse the Moffat County and Craig agency pages for a public notice. Then keep the job narrow. You're there to read the publisher's request or pass along facts. Not to find, follow, confront, or warn anyone on the list. That work belongs to law enforcement and the courts. The sequence below keeps the agency source and public safety out front.
- Open the Sheriff's official most-wanted and warrants routes, then check Craig Police's warrant page for city-issued notices.
- Read the entire card. Note the publishing agency, post date, stated charge, and any identifiers before deciding whether information is relevant.
- Do not copy or republish the photograph. If more identity context is needed, use the county's official booking-record paths and compare more than one identifier.
- If a person is recognized, keep away. Preserve only useful facts such as place, time, vehicle, or direction of travel.
- Send those facts through the Sheriff's official Submit a Tip control or non-emergency dispatch. Call 911 only when danger is immediate.
The public list can leave out a live case. It can also keep an old notice posted until the agency updates it. A card is never a reason to act against a person. Police and the court handle the warrant. The public supplies information.
The Craig Police warrant interface was captured without copying any wanted person's photograph.
The interface shows where agency-published cards would appear, and its empty state is exactly why it can't be used to clear anyone of a warrant.
Check Moffat County Warrants
Moffat County has no catch-all online warrant search portal. A personal warrant question needs a court-centered check instead. Start with a lawyer if you can. An attorney can find the right court, pull public case material, and arrange a safe response without testing the matter in public. For county and district cases in Colorado's 14th Judicial District, the Moffat Combined Court is the direct records fallback.
- Gather the full legal name, date of birth, possible case number, approximate date, and the agency or court that may be involved.
- Ask an attorney to check the case and advise on the proper next step. Do not rely on an empty web page or a third-party name match.
- Use the Judicial Branch's Moffat court document-request route, or contact the clerk at MoffatClerk@judicial.state.co.us for public records not shown online.
- For safe procedure, call the Moffat County Sheriff's Office at (970) 824-4495. Do not arrive at an office or courthouse without counsel's direction when a warrant may exist.
- Confirm the result with the responsible court. A police page, custody list, or news post cannot replace that confirmation.
A warrant is a court order telling law enforcement to take a stated action. The later court result answers a different question, whether dismissal, plea, or verdict. So does a missing jail record. No current booking might mean the person was never arrested. It might mean release. It might mean they're held somewhere else. It can't prove a warrant is gone.
The court and the Sheriff's Office split the work here too. The clerk holds court documents and can find the public file tied to a case number. The Sheriff can explain procedure and point you to the right office. Neither the Craig Police arrest archive nor a weekly arrest summary works as a warrant ledger. Both show selected past agency actions. Neither can certify what's enforceable today.
Note: Court staff can hand over records and process details, but only a lawyer can advise you on a specific warrant situation.
Moffat County Warrant Types
A warrant's label helps you find the right court path. It doesn't soften the rule against self-help or evasion. The signed warrant and case file hold the real authority and conditions. These broad categories are just a starting point.
| Type | General role | Safe next check |
|---|---|---|
| Arrest warrant | Authorizes an arrest based on a court finding of legal cause tied to an alleged offense. | Attorney and issuing court |
| Bench warrant | May follow a missed hearing or failure to comply with a court direction. | Attorney and the court named in the case |
| Failure-to-appear warrant | A bench-warrant form linked to a required appearance that the record says was missed. | Case docket, clerk, and attorney |
| Probation-related warrant | May allege a breach of supervision terms and requires review of the controlling case. | Attorney, court, and supervising office |
| Out-of-county or federal warrant | Originates outside Moffat County or under federal authority and may follow a different record path. | Issuing jurisdiction or federal counsel |
Don't guess a warrant's category from an arrest headline. Municipal, county, district, state, and federal matters sit in different records. They have different clerks too. A case number or the issuing court's name will get you much further than any broad web search.
Send Moffat Wanted Tips
Got a solid lead on someone on a Moffat County wanted list? The Sheriff's official tip form handles that online. Prefer a phone? Call non-emergency dispatch at (970) 824-6501. Nobody in the county has promised reward money, so don't expect a payout for what you share. Let the form itself guide you on contact details and staying anonymous.

Keep what you report short and first-hand. If the agency published a wanted card online, paste that URL in with your note, along with the time and place you saw what you saw. Never trespass or confront the person. Don't post warnings on social media either. Approaching someone to confirm a face can go badly. A wrong ID can hurt a person who had nothing to do with the case, and it pulls officers away from real leads.
Moffat Wanted Alerts and Custody
Want alerts pushed to your phone instead? CRIMEWATCH Mobile covers both the Moffat County Sheriff and Craig Police. Agency posts, notices, and tip options all flow through one app. Grab the iOS listing or the Android listing to install it. Keep expectations in line, though. The app is not a jail roster, a warrant database, or live custody tracker. Web subscriptions on the agency pages work the same way. Posts appear only when the agency decides to publish something.
Federal custody runs through its own door. Search the Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator by federal number or by details like age and name. It skips photos and ignores county warrants. It can also lag when someone is mid-transfer from a local jail.
A federal hit proves one thing only: a record inside that federal system. It cannot settle a Moffat County warrant. It can't replace the Moffat Combined Court as the place where a case gets decided.
The Colorado Department of Corrections keeps its own statewide fugitive page. It also runs a tip line at 1-866-873-6305. That channel covers state cases, not the Moffat County list. Colorado VINE sits in a different lane too. It texts or calls custody-status notices for participating records. That tells you where a person's custody changed. It won't tell you whether a warrant or court obligation is finished.
People also move between systems. A release from county jail, a state sentence, a federal transfer. Each lands in a different database. So match your search to the question at hand, then verify with the court file that ties it together. Watch out for common names. County, state, and federal tools can easily surface two different people who happen to share one.
Note: State and federal custody tools answer separate questions and cannot clear a Moffat County warrant.
